Welcome to the SAGE Coursepack for Our Social World: Condensed, Fifth Edition. Designed to enhance each student’s learning experience and support your teaching, SAGE Coursepacks offer ways to engage students through interactive exercises while making it easier to manage your course.

Each chapter includes a variety of assessment options that have been loaded into the "Quizzes" section of D2L (under the “Edit Course” menu). In this section, you’ll be able to review and edit each assessment to fit your needs. Assessments can be deployed at your discretion.

Use the following resources to increase student engagement with and understanding of textbook content and multimedia that supports learning objectives.

Learning Objectives: Students should familiarize themselves with each chapter's learning objectives before reading each chapter.

Pre-Test and Post-Test: The Pre-Test for each chapter assesses students' understanding of key concepts as they begin to engage with the material. The Post-Test for each chapter is designed to test students' mastery of the content and requires students to apply what they’ve learned. Each Pre-Test includes 10 questions and each Post-Test includes 20 questions.

Test Bank: The Test Bank offers multiple choice, true/false, and essay questions for each chapter in the text.

eFlashcards: These mobile-friendly self-study resources test knowledge of key terms and concepts from the text.

SAGE Journal Articles: Exclusive SAGE journal articles strengthen learning and expose students to important research and scholarship tied to chapter concepts.

SAGE News Clips from the Associated Press: These videos showcase real life examples to reinforce sociological concepts. *** These videos are access code-protected and reside in the VitalSource Interactive eBook. ***

SAGE Data Map Quizzes: Students learn data literacy by exploring an interactive map and answering questions about the data it represents.

ASA’s TRAILS Resources: includes chapter specific links to exceptional teaching resources from the American Sociological Associations TRAILS (Teaching Resources and Innovation Library for Sociology) database.

MCAT Guide: This maps chapter content to Foundational Concepts and Content Categories in Section 3 of the MCAT test.

Please share any feedback you have on these materials. We look forward to hearing your suggestions.
